Tibetan
Thangka Spiritual Art
Fine quality giclee reproductions
of antique Tibetan art
We
have access to a number of rare 200 year old Thangka paintings from
the ancient monestaries of Tibet, which convey this art form at
it's very best.
These Thangka paintings originate from the Langyi
monastery and Dege Temple in Tibet, and were painted at the height
of the tradition in Tibet and at a time when Tibet was still very
much isolated from the world. The quality of the designs and their
execution are of an order rarely seen in more contemprary thangka
paintings.
After 200 years the originals suffer from some degree
of deterioration. We have been able to sympa-thetically restore
these images.

Chenrezig
Otherwise known as Avalokitesvara, according to the Mahayana
doctrine, Avalokitesvara is the bodhisattva who has made a
great vow to listen to the prayers of all sentient beings
in times of difficulty, and to postpone his own Buddhahood
until he has assisted every being on Earth in achieving nirvana.
The Dalai Lama is considered by the Gelugpa sect and many

What is Thangka Painting?
A thangka is a traditional painting
of a Tibetan Buddhist deity, or a mandala worshipped
in the monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism. Thangka painting
is strictly governed by iconographic rules. In Tibet
they are traditionally the centre of Buddhist ceremonies.
They have served this important role for over a thousand
years.
Using our technique of taking multiple
photo sections and digitally stitching them together
we are able to create very high definition photographic
records of these thangka paintings and reproduce them
as fine giclee prints with a level of detail and clarity
impossible to recreate any other way.
