Some thoughts and advice.

If you could have artwork lithograph printed then unit costs are quite low and you can sell prints relatively cheaply, which always seems easier.  This used to be the only option before giclee printing. However you have to invest a lot of money up front for set up costs and print in high volumes to get those low prices.  So unless you have a good distribution set up or have a hot sales venue where you know you can shift large number then it's out of the question.

So you are looking at the giclee print route (signed limited editions an option).

These have to be marketed as of higher quality and value.  It's not going to easily attract people on a tight budget.  But the point of producing giclee prints is that it makes your work avaiable to people who may not be able to afford your original artworks, and also it extends the potential income you can earn from your creative efforts. You will be looking for those with some disposable income and who appreciate fine things.  They tend to have less aversion to spending money on things like art.

You need to look at your costs for printing and mounting etc, then at least double that to arrive at a minimum sale price.  You should consider adding more if you are going down the 'signed limited edition' route, and for the value of your creative / technical skills. Once you establish a strong name for yourself you can increase prices to meet the growing demand for your work.

Watch out for the temptation to undersell your work if you are just starting out.  But also - ask yourself if you saw the print for sale produced by another artist/photographer and you wanted it - how much would you be prepared to pay for it yourself?  You also have to consider the current economic climate too of course which has certainly impacted things.

Artists Agents

there are agent services available for artists who are happy to pass on the task of marketing and promoting their work, which after all is a time consuming and challenging thing to do, especially if you are not all together comfortable selling yourself. You will pay for their services of course, so you need to weigh up the costs and benefits yourself.

Exhibitions

The best way to sell your art is to have it seen. You need to get your artworks displayed in exhibitions as often as possible. Selling prints off the internet is not as easy as you might hope it to be.

Websites and the Internet

Have you got your own website? You should consider it if not. Even if you don't sell many prints/paintings from your website it is a great marketing tool. You could say that these days it is indispensable. Also look at using available internet sales sites like ebay, etsy and others. Using Facebook and other social media sites is very helpful too.
