Sexual Healing through Arts
There are problems concerning one's sexual state that may threaten intimate partnerships such as marriage. This includes sexual anxiety, inability to reach orgasm, addictions, pre-mature ejaculation, impotence, and loss of desire, often associated with a bulk of negative feelings, such as embarrassment, anxiety, self-blame, and the like. Although it may not be concretely determined, such conditions may be rooted to deeper problems, such as sexual trauma from abuse, stress, and the like.
Individuals experiencing these difficulties may not have to suffer for the rest of their lives as modern science is now able to treat this widespread concern with a psychological approach, taking care to address the roots.
There are sexual therapy clinics providing different kinds of healing methods. One of the most commonly used is therapeutic counselling, in which the patient communicates his or her thoughts with a listener (that is, the counsellor). This may be supplemented by other cathartic activities. Expressive art therapy has been used as a supplement to other methods of sexual healing. This is a psychotherapeutic approach involving the use of visual arts. It may sometimes make use of artworks to facilitate processes and solicit insights and thoughts from the patient. This technique can provide him or her an outlet to express one's self.
During certain cases, patients are encouraged to create their own artwork using different modes such as finger painting, crayon drawing, oil painting, sketching, and the like. This allows one to project negative feelings and eventually let them all out.
Today, more and more individuals have gained a radical understanding about this delicate concern. With psychologically-based art therapy, one can now easily find a recreational way to healing inner pains.
